Do not identify with your thoughts, for it is the purpose of thoughts to take on every identity, to think in the place of anyone and anything, and so your thoughts aren't always your own, as such, in that the fact that you are thinking something does not mean that you think it to be right, as you may merely be thinking of what another might think in one’s place: thoughts in themselves make no distinction between right and wrong, only feelings do, and if we are thinking a lot in ways we think are wrong, if anything, it is because our feelings and thoughts have become disconnected, which is usually caused by one trying to control the other and thereby setting itself apart from it. Therefore the best way to deal with those thoughts is to accept them, and knowing that what we think isn’t always what we think is right is the best way to accept them.
