Justice to Justice

I don’t intend to even the scales,
But break them beyond repair.
Don’t try to uphold them as they fall:
Their weight will only crush you.
You’ll be forced to cast them off,
To reach out beyond their height.
You’ll see just fine without the cloth
That the law tied over your eyes.
The light will overcome your senses,
But it'll remind you who you are;
Born beneath the open skies,
That liberate us from injustice.
I don’t keep track of every grain,
When you and I are infinite.
I’ll even the scales with the ground,
For they’ve a score to settle.
The sand will fall into the dunes,
And become one again with nature;
There where nothing is stable,
But floats on ever shifting waves.
