A storm is raging in my mind,
Lightning fills its sky with light,
But every bolt just breaks apart
As it seeks its way across the sky.
All its branches lose their way
In the emptiness twixt the clouds,
And I'm spending all my energy
Trying to join heaven and earth.
But when lightning strikes for all to see,
I know at least how small I am,
Though it makes me feel confused
And filled with fear I take to flight.
