Gladiators

Do not make me emperor
And look for me to decide
About the life of this moment
With the mere turn of my thumb.
For it is both hero and villain,
As every gladiator must be;
A hero for saving his own life,
And villain for taking another’s.
Moments come and go,
Whatever I may think.
And I can but watch the scene
As they each murder each other.
In other words, so-so,
How are you?
