Dambreak

I slosh around my vessel.
Rocking until I topple it.
This dam built around me,
To hold me back inside.
I'll follow your canals no more;
Let nature reclaim these lands!
I will overflow from my brim,
To form new outlets where I go.
I will seep throughout the clay,
And soak fields into bloom.
Now the dam is breaking down,
To unleash the floods below.
Not before or after me:
't Is who is the flood.
I have come to purify,
All that won't let go.
You'll just have to drown once,
But I'll uphold the dam no more.
The river will flow free again,
As once it had before.
