Ageism

As intelligence is the ability to learn, and children learn much faster than adults, they are also more intelligent, yet adults treat them as if they are less intelligent, letting them learn slower than adults rather than faster, and not letting them learn on their own, as if they lack the intelligence to do so, keeping them from learning anything that they aren’t worthy of knowing. This is discrimination as bad as any other, and like discrimination against sex and race, this is what brings with it a compulsion, just as what patriarchy is to women and slavery is to ethnic minorities.
