Burning Man

We stole fire from the gods,
And burned for our hubris.
Its light made us like them,
But couldn't be contained.
It burst from inside of us,
And had to reach beyond.
Nothing can hold us down,
No one's there to punish.
So we will keep rising higher,
On thro' the roof of the world.
To live is to burn the light
Passed down by the sun:
To bond sky and earth within,
In our every pulse of blood.
The lake of fire down below,
Is made of our own bodies.
