Campfire

Faces are lit by firelight,
Emerging from the dark.
Backs merge into forest,
Which quietly stands by.
A center without boundary,
Forms a temple of our own.
We are each other's pillars,
The flame our altar within.
The night whispers to us
To trust ourselves to her.
Lay down and you will find
The unknown need not kill.
Breathe one final sigh,
Out into open winds.
We never were alone:
All share in one space.
