Fusion

Mix, you chemicals,

Each atom finds its bond.

But I am become helium:

I am too noble for you.

I'm anywhere you're not,

Wherever's far away.

Could you break me

I'd be just like you,

But I'll hold down your stars

Before you'll hold me down.

We will bring darkness,

Before we bring new light.

I seek those of my kind,

To fuse with at the core.

To the universe at large,

We are merely a byproduct.

But as one we will be carbon:

It will be we who give it life.
