Potenz H

When on a good night
The water become even
It contains all the universe
Within its reflections.
I bend down to drink,
Only to start back
At the image that forms
In my way to the stars.
Just when I've found my way
To a quiet drinking spot,
I find one last obstacle,
That will not give way.
So I churn up the water,
To distort the reflection.
I wrestle with my image
Until it disappears again.
But every time I stand still,
To my disgust it returns;
Always closer than before
Every time I wade deeper.
But so I find it gets smaller,
As more of me's immersed;
Allowing me a wider view
Of what it mirrors beyond…
I'll drink to my dissolution.
