The Black Between the Stars

You’re all but stars to me,
Merely dots in the sky,
However far away you are,
I still see you in the night.
Never can I touch you,
Were I traveling a lifetime.
I can but watch you turn about,
Tho' never nearing as we move.
I do not fear this darkness:
It's what lets me see you at all.
I am the black between you,
So empty as to fill with fear.
Another galaxy will near me,
Ever so slowly to crash into.
Let your gravity come so close,
That my whole world warps around you.
We'll tear each other apart,
And only grow more beautiful.
Stars will fly into the nothing,
Yet in the end we'll all be fine.
